Exploration. A journey toward modern design
All great projects are born of ideas arising out of necessity. Estiluz is a true believer in paying tribute to the pioneers of modern design and as an appreciation, we're organizing a series of sight visits of buildings and homes of great architects and designers from our past and present where designers, architects and interior designers are the protagonists. Welcome to EXPLORATION by Estiluz.
The first part of our EXPLORATION series is a visit to the city of New Canaan, Connecticut. Extraordinare designers such as Marcel Breuer, Landis Gores, John M. Johansen, Philip Johnson y Eliot Noye left their ideas and vision about modern design making them a true international trend.
Our journey started with a visit to Café Café and Grain Bar at Blue Hill Farm where we had some tasty pastries and coffee. Then, we had an exclusive guided tour of the home and property of Philip Johnson and David Whitney known as The Glass House”. Lunch was served at the Elm Restaurant in New Canaan and we ended up in Grace Farms designed by architectural group SANNA.
All great designs stem from an idea of an individual or group of people that have the intention to make places or objects better to use with the environment.
